BrokerBricks
I’m proud of what we’ve brought to the mortgage industry with Echo Finance and the impact we’ve made in the lead generation world with LeadCrowd, but with my passion for technology, I couldn’t achieve my goals without building the tools to complement them.
BrokerBricks is a project that came to life many years after Echo, launching in 2026, but it’s a natural extension of my work in both the mortgage and lead gen sectors, and also my attempt to give something back to the industries that have treated me well over the years.
Another of my ventures with John Tarazi, BrokerBricks is a customisable tech stack for mortgage advisers that contains every digital tool they need to provide a five-star service, and its centrepiece is a free mortgage criteria look-up tool - the first of its kind in the industry.
Where it all began
I’ve always thought that pricey subscriptions for mortgage criteria tools are a barrier for some advisers, particularly those who are just starting out in the industry. I launched BrokerBricks with its free criteria search tool bundled in to remove that barrier.
BrokerBricks is a modular platform that’s designed to be built on. Advisers can cherrypick the tools they want to accompany the free Criteria Brick and build their own personalised toolkit. All Bricks are fully integrated with each other and accessed via one secure login.
There are other free Bricks to accompany the criteria tool, including the Company Docs and Org Chart Bricks, as well as premium tools that advisers can add to their stack.
We rolled out BrokerBricks to our own broker at Echo Finance to begin with and the free criteria tool was a big hit with them, as was the option to seamlessly transfer information from it to other connected tools, including the Affordability, CRM and Sourcing Bricks.
We built BrokerBricks because we felt it was what the industry was lacking, and we’re excited to see mortgage advisers from all over the country start adopting it.
Bricks in the wall
The free Criteria Brick was the first BrokerBricks tool we developed, and the rest of them fell into place after that. It went live with an array of free and premium tools that advisers and advisory firms can cherrypick to build the toolset they’ve always wanted.
Other Bricks that were available at launch include the Affordability Brick, the CRM Brick, the Sourcing Brick and the HR Brick, but we have ambitious plans to build more and more.
We have a roadmap in place for the next year and beyond and have no shortage of new Bricks to roll out between now and then. Upcoming Bricks include a broker discussion forum, a live mortgage rates API and many more.
