EchoSwap
I’ve always had an interest in cryptocurrency and can often be found dabbling in it when I’m not running Echo Finance and LeadCrowd. As a keen crypto investor, I could see how much room for improvement there was in this space, and EchoSwap is my way of driving that.
As much as I love crypto, swapping currencies always felt risky and needlessly complicated. EchoSwap is a new way to exchange cryptocurrency that is neither of these things.
What is EchoSwap?
EchoSwap is the world’s first walletless crypto swapping service.
Does that mean you don’t need a crypto wallet to use it? Not exactly, but you don’t need to connect your wallet directly to a website or decentralised exchange (DEX) to trade crypto on EchoSwap, and this quashes the biggest security risk involved in the process.
Here’s how it works: when you swap one type of crypto for another on EchoSwap, your funds are sent to a human-readable wallet address (smart contract address) and converted there before being sent right back to your wallet in the currency of your choice.
No more worrying about the DEX you’re using being hacked. No more grappling with three different transactions to trade your currency or fumbling with long strands of code. There’s only one step involved after you have decided which currency you need - just send.
The story so far
One of the main reasons I launched Echo Finance back in 2012 is because I saw room for improvement in the mortgage industry and felt like I could change it for the better. The idea behind EchoSwap is very similar, if you just swap out mortgages for the crypto space.
As a crypto trader myself, I could never rest easy when connecting to a DEX to trade currency because of the well-documented security risks involved. So I had this idea for a better system, one that cut out the middle man and required no direct DEX connection at all.
I wasn’t certain it was possible from a tech perspective, that is until I partnered with my good friend John Bushell, a software engineer with over two decades’ experience, who helped me prove the concept and launched EchoSwap with me as a joint venture.
After developing the infrastructure that EchoSwap runs on, John began work on the platform’s official website and we’re on the cusp of launching it globally.
